Caliber Fitness x Reddit

tl;dr

Caliber Fitness uses a Megathread, a Reddit-unique strategy that can be activated using Free-form ads to grab redditors right out of their daily feed scrolling and into live, relatable, and transparent conversations directly within their ad.

The founder of Caliber Fitness came to Reddit to create an ad he’d want to see himself as Reddit user.

To stand out, Caliber Fitness spoke to Reddit users in a Megathread like they would from an individual account. Their long-form post described Caliber Fitness’s mission and introduced the platform to Reddit users in a way that was transparent and relatable.

In return, the community responded with a stream of comments, many of which deemed his ad the “best Reddit ad of all time,” or “the first ad to make somebody stop scrolling.” Many Reddit users thanked the founder, Justin, for creating it.

“Discussion and community is at the core of Reddit, so it seemed like the perfect place to launch a marketing campaign for the free version of our Caliber app. We wanted to find users who would discuss the app online, share it with friends and family members, and also provide feedback on how we could improve it. Reddit has come through in all of these ways and more."
