Best practices to help your brand stand out in Reddit’s finance communities:

When it comes to the financial services space, users are often overwhelmed with technical terms and jargon from every direction. Use your expertise to help make your services and the world of money more approachable for both the average user and the seasoned investor.

Be Clear: Determine who you’re targeting, what action you want them to take and why they should trust you over another brand. Are you speaking to early stage investors? Users on a budget? High Net Worth individuals? Families?

Focus on the people you could help most, and be clear about what your brand can offer them that others cannot. In other words, what sets you apart when it comes to their money?

Add Value: There are tons of ways you can add value to Reddit’s finance communities. Explain a complex topic in simpler terms, spell out the difference between your products and services, or prove your expertise with an interesting perspective on an emerging trend. Reveal a special promotion or give users first access to a new offering.

Make money easy to understand, and users will be more likely to trust you with theirs.

Be Uniquely Reddit: Think about what natural community behaviors align with your brand promise. Can you articulate your benefit in terms of Reddit Awards or Karma? Can your brand help users earn more money or points to explore passions related to communities they subscribe to like r/Travel, r/Food and r/Music

Show you understand the difference between users in r/frugal and users in r/financialindependence, and how your brand fits into each.

Don’t let important moments pass—start driving awareness and educating consumers on how your brand can help them make smart money management habits starting now.
